South Snowdon Quarry Tramway : The album also shows views in the quarry and also the burnt out ruins of Sir Edward Watkin's old house The Chalet. Sir Edward had been a director of the Great Central Railway who had visualised a channel tunnel to connect the southern end of his GCR with Europe and Paris back in the 1890's. Some work was started on a tunnel which still exists today out under the sea.

Sanders & Foster's Yard, East London, 1980 : In 1980 a request had been made through our WHR railway club newsletter to give assistance in lifting redundant 600mm narrow gauge track and moving 2No locomotives from a recently closed engineering company in East London. The company having been bought by a bigger American firm to asset strip! One of the little loco's made by Hunslet's of Leeds was still operational and it was started and it was run up and down the short industrial line for the last time before heading off to North Wales for preservation. In 2011 it now resides "cabless" at the private Statfold Barn railway near Birmingham.

Father's Day Weekend 16/17th June 2012 : On Saturday I took my son Robert and my gf Loreza to St Albans for a shopping trip and to revisit the Cathedral. Loreza wanted to buy a steamer and some baking trays to make a popular Philippino sweet dish called Puto. During the afternoon we sat and listened to the St Albans Cathedral Choir and Orchestra practising for that evenings Mozart Requiem concert. On the Sunday evening Loreza and her friend Myrna arranged a surprise outing to a Chinese restaurant in Enfield for dinner.

Russell visiting the Ffestiniog Railway in 1988 : A dual collection here combining Russell's visit to the FR back in 1988 and some earlier views of the Peckett 0-4-2T Karen working the WHR(64)Co trains at Gelerts Farm.. Some interesting views across the site before it got developed and of a very bleak looking Pen-Y-Mount Halt. Looking back these pics seem as old as those of Moel Tryfan and 590 working the old line.

Sevilla Easter Holy Week 2011 : During my October 2010 visit to Sevilla the girls told me I had to visit the City for the next Holy Week celebration at Easter 2011. I'm glad I did cos it gave me the opportunity to visit many of the wonderful churches in the City. I also enjoyed a visit to Isla Magica, the old Roman City of Italica at Santaponce (just to the northwest of Sevilla) and the fantastic caverns at Aracena known as Gruta de las Maravillas. I hope to visit Sevilla again in September and also for next year's Feria Abril (Sevilla's April Fair) for its Flamenco Week!
